Fitting the Cowling

The prop spinner is carbon fiber as is the mounting flange installed between the prop and the crankshaft flange. There is a 3/8" gap between the flange and the cowling at the top, and 7/16" at the bottom. This difference is intentional as making it to tight will prevent the air filter scoop from being removed for service.



The blade cutouts are careful made by nibbling away the material slowly. The wood thing is a blade paddle to rotate the blades to check for clearance through out the blades twist range.



Lastly, I made some little aluminum plates to fill the area behind the blade.
